Movie in a Park anyone?

OOOOOOO K soooooo update time! There really isn't much to say. I went to a movie in a park with my friend Kensie and some other people last week. We saw The Never Ending Story. I had never seen it before...it was actually kinda funny/cute. haha. I wish I would have taken pictures! I haven't had my camera with me all week. Utah really has a lot of cute activities that go on. I mean I can't think of a time when they had movies in the park for free in Houston....maybe they did and I just didn't know about it.

Last night Kensie and I also had a little get together at her house. IT was AMAZING. There really weren't too many people there but her dad is an event planner so it was sooooooo gorgeous. This girl really goes all out for everything. Decorations, the way the food was presented, this girl has it in her to plan ANYTHING. It really was a lot of fun!

So.... I had a really homesick day the other day. I think I am going to try and come home for a week in August. Either the 3-12 or the 13-20. School starts the 20th so I don't know if I really want to be gone the week before school starts. My finals aren't until the 3rd though so I have to be here until then. I just really want a break from Utah and I want to see my friends and I want tons and tons of hugs!! Well...that's about it. Like I said... I didn't really have too much to talk about but it's an update none the less. The.End.

I Miss my Papa John

So...Father's Day is almost over....oh how I miss my daddy!

OK so I miss my family in GENERAL but still......my dad makes some of the BEST pancakes around! Had I of been home I could have begged and pleaded and puppy dog eyed my way into getting him to make them for me.....or at least I could have made the batter and HE would have cooked them....but NO....I had to make them all by myself on Saturday morning and that's what I get! I put oil on the bottom of the pan and everything was fine until I went to flip it over......BAM Oil went through my shirt and I have like ......wait let me count them NINE oil burns on my tummy! Four of which are rather large. I had to go to Walgreen's to buy mederma so hopefully the scars will go away. I am telling you people.....please come visit me while you can b.c everyday I get more and more scars and bad things that happen to my body...in a few years I am going to be a MONSTER!

I was going to post pictures of the burns but they are on my tummy and being a girl and I ....yeah...self conscious...and don't really want anyone to see those right now. Maybe if I lost 500 pounds!

Bored at Work

So... I am sitting here at work quite bored. I can't believe I actually remembered my password! My boss should be back shortly but until he comes back I cannot finish what I am doing. I feel really guilty writing at work but I really can't finish what I am doing until he comes back. I have already checked out the Astros' webpage (they won last night -YAY) and that's about all I can do here at work. Websites such as myspace.com facebook.com and yahoo and hotmail email are blocked (as they should be) so all I have are sports and blogs to look at. Too bad Ms. Christina hasn't updated in like oh..five million years. I wanted to follow her lead and take a picture of dinner last night. Nothing fancy-just tacos- but they looked SUPER pretty if I do say so myself. They also tasted ultra yummy!

Guys... Sometimes I wonder if I shall ever finish school! :( Summer school is almost over but after that who knows how long. I just want to be DONE! I have worked hard... I DESERVE IT! Too bad I am also getting my MASTERS degree....UGH! School is NEVER going to end!

I just want to finish school and start making LOTS of money so I won't have to be in debt! Plus... I told my mom I would pay for stuff when I am rich so that she doesn't have to work anymore. My poor mommy! With her diabetes she doesn't handle age as well as everyone else. She loves what she does but she just can't work too much longer. How strange is that?!?! I sometimes feel as if my mom is just as old as I am or just a little older. I really feel she is an equal-a person too... while still respecting her as my mother. I know you may say...a person too? Yeah... I never used to think of my mom as a PERSON ....someone who worries, someone who wants to have fun, someone who is still 16 at heart in a grown up's body....she was just MOM. Like there were two categories....PEOPLE.....and Parents/grandparents/old people in general. I guess the older I get the more I realize EVERYONE is just a 16 year old in a grown up's body.

Well there is tons more I could say to that but I should go. Catch ya on the FLIP SIDE!

So I was bored the other day and decided to play with the camera. I think I should minor in photography because I like taking pictures.....sadly the only thing I had was myself so anyway...I think a few of them came out really pretty so here they are....just because I don't think I normally look this pretty. FYI I had a spaghetti strap shirt on but you can't see it b/c my hair covers it.

This Weekend

So I took my first Calculus test on Friday. I know I missed a few problems but it was cool b/c I actually knew what was going on in the test. That is always a good feeling.

So...the weekend came along and I really wasn't too happy. I hate weekends b/c I have nothing to do and no one to hang out with. At least during the week I have work and school to keep my busy. I had a study group first thing Saturday morning for my stats midterm that is coming up on Monday but after that was over I had nothing to do. I mean homework but that is about it. Sometimes I hate being in Utah because I always had someone to hang out with or something to do in Texas and now I have no one. I was really sitting around being pretty mopey.

As I watched Cheaper by the dozen I started to cry b/c I wished I had my family around. As that happened my phone rang and this girl from my ward invited me on a hike. I don't really know the girl that well but it was really nice of her and I was so thankful b/c I really wanted to get out of the house. After our hike she told me she knew of this really good taco stand on state st and 8th(south) so we went there. IT WAS SO GOOD! I got two carnita tacos and two barbacoa tacos. YUMMY! When I got home my old roomate Amber (who is actually moving back in, in a week and also living with me for fall while she goes to graduate school) called me and asked if I wanted to go to a drive in movie with her and her boyfriend and some people. I had never been to a drive in before. It was actually really cool! So... that was my weekend. Hope you enjoyed hearing about it.

Calculus on the Brain...litterally

OK so all I do is think about Calculus lately. That is not to say that is all I DO... but I stress about it a lot. Take for example...TODAY. It was a nice, beautiful, HOT sunny Utah day today and instead of going outside I sat in my room all day. I woke up and thought...I should really get started on Calc...and then I didn't want to so I watched a movie on TV the whole time thinking...I should do calc...and then around three I actually sat at my desk and cleaned off the desk in attempt to lay out my book and start doing homework. I took an hour break to trek out to Sonic to eat some familiar food and then when I came back it was about 7....ok I have four sections to finish so I'd better get started.......so here it is...9 o clock and I have only spent two hours actually DOING homework and like twelve hours THINKING about it...now if only in this case it were the thought that counts. One section down, three to go...and a business stats test to do all before Monday morning rolls around...

I hate procrastination!

I made it! This was one view from the top. I was soooo angry when I got to the top I hardly took any pictures. I was mad someone fooled me into thinking hiking to the top would be fun. All it was, was a LOT of hard work and three hours of climbing straight UP. UGH! I am glad I did it though!

Oh.MY. FRIGGIN. GOSH! After much labor and pain I figured out how to save this picture to my computer. WE only got real pictures of course... so I had to scan it using my printer which wasn't too bad but it took FOREVER to figure out how to save it and where it got saved and all that good stuff b/c HP saved it to the HP thing and I dunno......but here it is......I hope you all like it. This is us holding his ring and the barrel is filled with wather from the seven seas and water from the severn river and he had to dip it in there before he could wear his ring. Well.."legally." It is just tradition and that's what they do there at the Naval Academy.

Ring Dance

OK so I got back from Annapolis on Tuesday night. The trip was fun but I am glad to be back. We went to Baltimore Harbour on Friday night and Saturday and Sunday morning was spent in Habourtowne, a city next to St. Michaels, 'the city that fooled the brittish!" I had never heard of it before but for those of you who were wondering back in the day (when the brittish were coming) they were bombing citys and stuff so the town got together and they were like HEY! we don't want to be bombed. what should we do...and some cookie( not a litteral cookie but someone there) said hey! why don't we take all the lanterns from out of the city and hang them in the forest behind us and then it will look like THAT is where the city is....so thus the city of St. Michaels set out tkaing all the lanterns from their house and haning them in the woods behind them and that night....BOOM! BANG! POWEY! The forest got destroyed but the city of ST. Michaels was safe. THREE CHEERS FOR ST MICHAELS...HIP HIP HOORAY! HIP HIP HOORAY! haha ok i am not going to do the third cheer i am just being stupid. so.....here are some pictures from my trip.

Much Randomness

Well, finals are FINALLY over. Sorry I hardly ever post b/c I don't know my password. It is saved onto my laptop and sometimes I forget how to get to the page where it is saved. But... alas...I am posting again. Well.......the past few weeks have been full of ups and downs. As I previously said finals are over. I know I have one B so far but I am still waiting on grades from my other classes to post. In the meantime I have been up to some small adventures. My friend Ben took me to a Bee's game a few weeks back in leiu of the Astros.....it doesn't really seem like it's even but he did what he could. It really was a ton of fun just to go and watch a baseball game. I do miss my Astros though! Speaking of Houston sports FREAK! I am soooooooooo annoyed and sad that the friggin JAZZ beat the ROCKETS and at home no less!!!! I mean I am not a huge basketball fan but I HATE THE JAZZ and moving here didn't make me like them anymore. UGH! ok...but now that that is off my chest...for Family Home Evening my ward went hiking up Ensign Peak. Benjamin and I. Me and Randy.You can actually see the stadium, the Huntsman center, Campus and my apartment if you squint and know what you are looking for! The stadium is the thing in the center of the picture and there are two brick tall things a little bit apart from each other. I wish I could circle it. I bet a dollar no one can really see it. haha. but it's there!

What else what else. Oh yes...my friend Randy took me to the shooting range about two weeks back. Just to prove it...Yeah... I am a decent shot. I could stand a lot more practice but I could still get ya even without it.....so don't make me mad!!! ; )
OK let's see what else. I got flowers at work the other day. They were so darling!

Also, Scott & Julie Christiansen had a TEXAS reunion for all the League City people that now live in Utah. There are a lot more than you would think in this immediate area although a lot didn't show up because of the time of year. School and such.... but here is a picture of Jessie Storm ( well she hasn't been a Storm for about 10 years but still....) and Sarah Trahan (same story, I don't know thier married names) and Angela Arnett -Stone. Little Lindsay Christiansen is sitting in Jessie's lap and that is Sarah's son. Cute huh!?!?!And that would be me and Emmy. I love that girl!!!

Bored

Well I had something to say but by the time I got here I forgot. Hmmmm. Well I hope everyone is having a great day. P.S. I hate all my friends b/c they are too stinkin cute and I feel ugly compared to them!

Also, I am walking in the relay for life this weekend. It supports cancer. If i haven't e-mailed you and you want to make an online donation to my page just let me know! Please!! Even a dollar and I would love you for supporting ME and for supporting cancer! I have known a few people especially RECENTLY that have had parents going through cancer and it is not a fun thing to watch them do. IT affects so many people and I want to do my part in at least trying to help! I have raised 65 dollars so far, not too shabby considering that is just like 4 donors......but I would like to reach 100 and I know so many people........so DONATE! just do it! all the cool kids are doing it!


Also, I just got my invitation to Haley Adams' wedding today! awww TOO CUTE!! Leaving on a Jet Plane?

So I normally only post when I have pictures but I will learn from Christina and post what is on my mind.

So.....lately when I see a plane you have no clue the longing I feel to be on that plane. I want it to take me far away from here! I want to go to Houston for the weekend and then to New York and D.C. I want to spend a weekend on the beach in florida and then in San Diego. I want to do so many things and I feel stuck. Plus, there are so many people I love who are far far away.... sad day.

A little of this, a little of that

So... I should really be doing other things but yeah...I don't feel like it. So... I set my clock forward today. That was uneventful. I am sure I have a ton of things to talk about but I have not been feeling well lately so my head hurts and I don't feel like thinking. So....my lip has finally healed! Bad thing though is that now I have a huge bump on the outer side of my mouth/chin area......inbetween my bottom lip and my chin where there is a bunch of scar tissue underneath. it is really uncomfortable but i just try not to touch it. it is really tempting to just get a needle and poke it .........

So....my roomate Amber finally turned 21! yay! now i am not the only "old" person in our apartment. So...we went out to dinner at Chili's to celebrate. Here are pictures of the roomates.

So...Amber, Me, Chelsea, and Laura. Amber graduates in May so she is moving out. Laura and I will be living in the same apartment here next semester and Chelsea is moving out because....well.......it is just better that way!

On a diff note. Marie came into town on a field trip with her school so here are some pictures from hanging out at the hotel room with her friend Gwen.
Even though we only got to see each other for a few hours it was nice. It is always awesome to hang out with her.

We were stinkin cold at the end of the day and on the metro. So don't judge me cuz I know I look HORRIBLE! I really do miss Tyler A LOT!!!! :( He isn't "mr. right" but as my dad said......he is "mr. will do." (for now) haha. He has his flaws just like anyone, and to top it off he is like 2000 miles away and he never gets free time to talk....but he is a really good guy who cares about me a lot....so... who knows how long it will last. Long distance relationship are really stupid! But....if anything, I will be able to honestly say it was fun while it lasted.

Happy President's Day!

Well....

As most of you know I flew out to Maryland/DC/Virginia for a little four day weekend. It was super nice to take a vacation. It would have been nice to go for a longer time and get to see and do more things but I guess you take what you can get, right? Well....here are a few pictures from my adventure.

Happy Birthday Mr. Lincoln! See the birthday balloon for him? IT was a neat experience to be there for president's day! This was probably my favorite part of the whole thing. I really liked reading the speaches he wrote that are engraved on the walls. The monument is just larger than life. It was amazing!

Goes to show......I can walk on water........FROZEN water........but water! haha. Although in this picture I am just sitting on it. This is probably my favorite picture!

Yay for Sisters!

Well Marie came to visit me this past weekend. It was quite fun. She came in last Friday night and I made a BBQ for her and her friend Mindy. IT was SUPER YUMMY! Saturday we didn't do too much. Just hung around the house and then went to Park City because the Sundance Film Festival was going on so we thought we would check it out.

AFter that we were pretty busy hanging out with an assortment of friends and we even went to go see Catch & Release. FYI...it sucked big time! Don't go see it! haha. Sunday as she was getting ready for church I noticed she had the same shoes as me and a shirt very similar to one of my favorites so........I DRESSED LIKE HER!! haha.......she didn't have another outfit so she couldn't change but she did try to put on a sweater to hide it......it's ok. I took pictures! haha. Well..........that's about it for now. She is back on her way to Idaho and I have to get back to studying, but I thought I would update.
